On festive days, women in Desulo wear extravagant costumes displaying Nuragic, Phoenician, Greek, Byzantine and Spanish influences. Both men and women were involved in weaving, the women creating the characteristic patterns and the men embellishing them with fine gold and silver threads.
This art and craftsmanship also lives on in traditional Sardinian jewellery, culminating in the gorgeous gold wedding band, a masterpiece of filigree detail passed down over centuries.
